According to 247, CBB interviewed this guy on Monday, for the LB Coach opening....  Wish his son would come with him, if he is chosen!!!

Last year.  He's going into his 2nd year @ Houston.

There's a pick-up truck out front that says "Doyle Hargreaves Construction" on it.

On the surface he looks like a great candidate.  I put him as my No. 2 choice of the names we have brought up.

He's down the list a little bit for me.

Hasn't been a great recruiter, given his connections.  Not near what you'd expect.

Doyle says to send an ambulance or a hearst.

I put Woodie from USF as my No. 1.  I think he has a great up side.  Both have had great success on the field and also recruiting in S. Florida but Woodie to me is more ambitious and so I think would work harder.  But what I don't know is who would fit into this coaching staff the best.

It's on the corner of oak street, an some other street, Doyle said in addition to the po leese you might wanna send a ambulance umhm

He would be good.  He was on Butch Davis' coaching staff in Miami and coached there into the mid 2000s.  He probably still has connections down there and certainly knows the area.

Notice he says your boy instead of "our coach". Very telling.

I'm not worried. If he recruits like he did here Louisville will fire him in about 5 years.

20 seconds because I couldn't spell his last name. Lol

Should have just butchered it, and corrected later, lol.

Finally we made the hire.
Yep.  Was going to get worried if we made it to Thursday and still didn't have a LB coach hired.

Well, let's hear it? Yay or nay? I don't know enough to comment, but if Brett and Robb like him, should be ok.

Hargreaves serves as the special teams coordinator and the defensve ends coach with the Bulls.

Well that answers the special teams coaching question.

Per UA twitter.

can't say we upgraded...He has been bouncing around mid majors and positions and is far from an up and comer at his age.

I preferred William Inge or Raymond Woodie but I will get behind him.  Maybe he just hadn't got the break he needed and despite his age is going to be a flat out go getter and work tirelessly on the recruiting trail

Florida recruiting connections, special teams experience, and very respectable name in the coaching world.

Good hire for the #Razorbacks. At Miami Vernon Hargreaves helped develop some stud LBs (Dan Morgan, Jon Vilma, DJ Williams & Rocky McIntosh)

Fantastic hire.  Great pedigree that fits with DC Robb Smith's system.  DEEP ties to south Florida for recruiting.

Well Wildhog, what do you think?

Better than Buh, I guess...

He's not much of a recruiter, and has spent most of the last decade as a mid-major DE coach.  Not going to pitch a fit, though.  Hope he works out.

Worked under Butch Davis and Randy Shannon at Miami.

Also has some work as a special teams coach.

I think it is a solid hire.

forrest city joe

I love this hire. this guy can flatout recruit. has connections in Florida and Texas. i am old enough to remember when he played. coach B knows what he is doing. this hire was worth the wait. WPS. GO HOGS.

LRHawg

Solid hire, as expected. Looking forward to the OC announcement now.

AugustaHog

I agree, this is definitely not a sexy hire.  I'm not saying that it won't be a good one, but it definitely does not knock my socks off.  Heck, neither did Robb Smith, initially.  We've all seen how that turned out.  I'm behind CBB and will support Coach Hargreaves too.  I hope he has some potential kids looking to visit the Hill over the next couple weeks.

FutureMan

Sounds good to me.  Most imporant though, Coach B, Coach Smith, Coach Jennings, and Coach Segrest like him, I will defer to their judgment everytime.
